Letter to the Families
Dear Families of Students Graduating with Sociology or the Earth Sciences,
Each year the Social Science units of the college of Liberal Arts and Sciences conduct a Convocation Ceremony during which each graduate is recognized individually. This event will take place in a smaller, more personal atmosphere than the all-campus graduation held in the Assembly Hall.
I am happy to invite you to this Convocation Ceremony in honor of a member of your family who has earned the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology or Earth Sciences. It will be in Smith Memorial Hall, Smith Music Hall 805 S. Matthews, Urbana, Illinois, on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 10:00 a.m.

Graduation is a joyful occasion, which we know you have anticipated and which we hope you will enjoy. Graduates and families also are encouraged to attend the all-campus commencement ceremony Sunday morning at the Assembly Hall.
